Firstly I think Kevin needs to move this post to the appropriate place but also welcome to the forum Noreen. Yes the entire drum and springs of a 229 can be repaired and replaced but i must stress that it is done by someone with experience of this lift. The springs can be sharp and must be wound correctly to ensure the drum recoils as it should. Where roughly in the country are you? Maybe a forum member can help?
