Thanks for the replies. It is a single straight rail 4M long with no joins hence my question and surprise when I realised – too late! Ha, amateurs!. I can easy move the contact to the end thanks.
I’m happy to buy a new post and understand the safety implications. Sourcing it might be more tricky. Any ideas? The lift is only 8 months old so doubt it is one of the recalled seat-posts but I’ll check.
Out of interest, Acorn wanted £145 for the call out which includes the first hour and £56 for the post. So much for a ten minute job but we all have to earn a living.
PS, anyone want to buy a long seat post?
