Acorn 80 Bottom Limit

Hi all I’ve just been attempting to programme the Bottom Terminal Limit on an Acorn 80 stair lift. The manual instructs that in order to programme the bottom terminal limit, to drive the lift on to the limit sticker. Although there is a limit switch fitted to the lift which operates in either direction and there is a limit sticker fitted to the top charge point, there is no limit striker fitted to the bottom section of rail. This is a hinged rail installation with not charge point at the bottom. Can any one advise if I have miss understood the set up or if the striker is simply missing. Any advise greatly appreciated.
