had my first experience of one of these lifts! DOA! a week after install! battery’s flat and no charger output! kicked it back to the original installers as its still under the installers warranty! but the council seem to want us to put it back into service and void the warranty!
anybody know what the link cable is for that earths the charge strips out to the rail? is it just a dead short or a link cable with magical properties? asking as it wasn’t fitted and am wondering if that’s why the charger went pop?
getting conflicting answers to the link cable question? -

Hi
The link cable must be fitted at the end of the rail and connected to the charger and yes it has magical properties in what it does, does the charger have a green led on it ?? if not remove the charger from the rail and recheck if no light will need replaced but link cable must be fitted

charger was totally dead! kicked the job back to the council and the original installers! just taken over a new area and starting to find stuff installed, serviced and repaired by a so called reputable company that is not that impressive! they swapped a chair and carriage out on a 2000 p/s pvh, ran the lift onto the rail fitted the seat, tucked the new remotes under the rail in a bag and left site saying we’ll be back in a bit…three month later we get the call lift not working and are expected to get it running on a call out! not happening on a friday night!
1000 ps that overhangs the doorway, so they fit a mid charge point, and leave only two button remotes! plus spin the lower charge pin 180 deg’s so the charge pin will never reach the charge point and the customer has to play hunt the charge point when they want to use the door! plus the ps and footrest have never worked from day of install, so far I’ve seen 8 lifts out of a possible 400+ (council keep adding lifts to their books) and its not looking good!
