Handicare 1000 staight rail remove motor

ParticipantHow do I remove the motor from the rail on a handicare 1000 straight rail lift which has a powered seat.
I tried removing the 2 bolt on metal fittings positioned about 6 ” and about 2″ from the top.
I expected the motor with seat to travel to the end of the track and start making a noise at the end of the track. Allowing me to lift/pull it off
BUT the seat would not go past the charging point. More operating the up switch only turned the seat for someone to get off it
What is the trick to remove the motor and seat assembly. Is there a ‘dismantling guide’

ParticipantCharge ramp needs to come off to run the lift off the rail, it’s a combined stop and charge ramp, be carful running the lift on and off the rail as the osg is easy to trip and can be a biatch to reset!

ParticipantHi Spike
What is the OSG, you say “as the osg is easy to trip and can be a biatch to reset”

ParticipantLeave the charge ramp alone and instead lift the grey plastic strip in the center of the rail, under it will be a couple of circular magnets – remove them and refit the grey plastic and the lift will drive fully off of the rail. There is a magnetic reed switch under the safety cover which is activated by the magnets to set the top and bottom limit on a 1000.

ParticipantThanks guys
I had a swift look today after getting it out of my CRV.
I found the 2 x 1/2″ (ish) round velcroded magnets at both the top and bottom of the rail.
Again thanks for your input.
I am still looking for a cheap green plastic connector 950 pcb.
Regards
Richard
