Have been asked to diagnose and repair a Handicare Freecurve Classic with power swivel. Unfortunately, the elderly owner allowed the cord from her dressing gown to get entangled in the mechanism, which has resulted in some small cables getting destroyed.
I have traced the circuit diagram for the printed circuit board via the Handicare Freecurve Technical Manual page 15 of 80 – the yellow and red cables which have been severed were (a) a yellow cable coming from pin 9 of connector C1, located in the armrest and (b) a red cable coming from pin 10 of the same connector. This pair of cables appears to have led to another connector called C2, located close to a destination circuit board with other connectors C16, C17, C18 and C19.
Does anyone know where this destination circuit board is located? It can contain wiring for a powered footrest, if this option is enabled. What is the cable route that these red and yellow cables take to reach this circuit board? There is absolutely no evidence from this machine whether there is a missing cable which has been chewed up, or perhaps these cables had no function whatsoever. The machine is currently not working, thus I.m pretty sure that these cables have an important role to fulfill.
