How to clear P 4 error code while re-programming.

I had not plugged in the transformer and received a P-4 code. How do I erase the code. Lift is now on charging port but still flashing P-4 code. Have checked to make sure the charging contacts for both the strips and carriage are in contact and measuring correct voltage.
