Hi there, We have an Ottolift One, and unfortunately it’s stopped working recently – it has no power, and the light is off. I think this might be because it was accidentally moved a few weeks ago so was no longer on the charging point, and has run out of batteries.
We need to move it to clear the landing, because we are moving house, so I need to either
- Move the chair manually back to the end of the rail so it can charge
- Remove the seat from the rail completely
I can’t find any instructions on how to go about doing this – I presume there’s some way to unlock the mechanism so it can be moved manually, but no amount of googling has lead to any info. Does anyone have a guide? Alternatively, if somebody can explain the steps to completely remove the chair from the rail, that would be great. We might potentially be able to sell the chair (which is basically unused) for spares.
I’ve contacted Ottolift to ask how to do either of these things, but they won’t give me information on the process due to some fluff about “health and safety”, saying that only a trained professional should attempt it. This is clearly nonsense – there’s no way I’m paying for an engineer to come out and remove the chair.
Any help you can give me would be gratefully accepted!
