Does anyone use photographic survey equipment?

I still measure manually, but I’m getting old and the knees have seen better days so I’m considering investing in one.

I’ve seen the setup used for a few curved Bruno lift surveys and wondered what everyones experience was.

Can one type be read by all manufacturers or is it brand specific? Is it as much of a ball ache as it looks or does it save time and improve accuracy?
