My mother use a STANNAH 310 fifteen year old. The first failure was 2 weeks ago. The stairlift works fine to go down and and to climb it was 30 cm by 30 cm a the bigining and 10 cm by 10 cm after and nothing when it was at the middle. Batteries were very old and I replace them.
Immediatly after this replacement I use the stairlift to go at the top which is it’s normal position and I covered it as I do each time my mother come at home.2 months later without any use between I want to use it to go at the bottom. Nothing happen. Only the noise of one relay coming during 1 second and the same noise after (I thing the relay comming off). If I try again nothing happen. I Switch off and on the power with the key and the same noise after.
So I decided to test some elements inside:
-Batteries seemed OK more than 26V
– I test differents switchs
2 in the footrest
2 each side of the the lower part of the seat to cut power if there is something on the rail
4 near the rail and used to stop the seat on top and bottom
Chair arm key
chair arm
power switch at the end of the left arm
The light green and orange are on
I do not find other swith during this first inspection . I do not Know where is the swivel switch and other’s
I verified all the connections.
I descend manually the stair during 30 cm to avoid any security at the top.
On the board when the power is on The led whrite n° 6 is green. and no other led light.
When I want to go down there is the noise of the relay during 1 second as i explain upper and the led write n° 1 become red. and if I try again without using the key OFF/ON the led write N° 5 become red too. After that all electronic is blocked. I have to use the key swith to reset and I have the same cycle after that.
My english is really bad and I hopes you understand what I write upper. It is important for my mother to come at home some time (97 year’s old)Thank you very much for your help
Best regards

Sounds like a batt fault still. Have you checked it chagers top and bottom. Also id check the trailing cable for brakes. If your inclined id also check the charging current. If that all is good it sounds like the main relay on the PCB is u/s and you’ll need a board repair or replacement.

Thank you for your help,
About the batteries I have 28,4 V when they are connected to the charger and after 1/2 hour of disconnecting there is more than 28V. They seem good…….
Have you more information about the trailing cable for brakes. I find nothing about that.
Is there any switch about over weight load and the swivel ?
Have you any information about the signification of the six led on the board ? color and when or why they light.
It is good to received help.
Best wishes for the new year.

Just cuz you have voltage don’t mean the batts are capable of running the lift. Led 1 is for the main realy and its common for them to fail but its more common for this to be on if batts are duds. Check the chaging current and try a different set of batts. If you still have the issuse sound like a board fault.
