Stannah 420 power supply
Posted by glaucous on November 1, 2015 at 5:08 pmHi.
Where on the rail do the 2 DC cables go? I assume black goes to rail, and the red goes to the copper strip- am I right?
Thanks for any help.

Thanks, Northern Mobility.
Next question is: The copper busbar has 3 potential fitting points on the plastic guide rail, which insulates it from the grounded aluminium rail. But, which of the 3 possible positions of this plastic guide does the copper busbar sit? bottom, middle or top?
Really appreciate the help – 🙂 -
It will sit in the position that lines up with pick up brushes.

What TLC said, its generally the middle but check
Very easy to break the brushes when installing so make sure you “lock” the brush back. It’s a huge pain if you break them

Many thanks guys – recently fitted 2 new 12v 7amp batteries to it – it came to me with the busbar coiled up. Took a while to figure out that it will only charge when one of the microswitches is depressed – in other words, top or bottom of stairs. Got it working now. I really appreciated the help.
Dont know if you ever come across automatic doors in your line of work. If you do, and you need any advice, let me know. I will monitor this forum thread for a while 🙂 -
Charge is always the middle (unless some random has tampered). There may be one or two (two locations on chassis for mounting) pick ups. The top and bottom are for powered accessories such as a hinge.
