If you can access all the screws then you might be able to get the covers off with the seat on. If not you might need to remove the seat. Its not too difficult but I would recommend you get a local independant engineer out. I’m not sure of your technical skills so I’m a bit reluctant to advise further as if you get it wrong you could endanger any user of the lift
