Well done ianb, and northern mobility you were correct. Dainty hands here managed to knock the ‘hand’ switch to the off position probably when removing/replacing/checking the battery cables.
In my defence, if I didn’t have to charge the batteries with an external supply to get the thing to ‘boot up’ and charge itself, then it would never have happened.
Waiting for the next holiday (flat batteries again) , but I will take more care next time.
