This is a right hand model configured for a switchback staircase and features a power hinge on the bottom section. In other words, it goes up 7 steps on the right side of the stairway, rounds the switchback, then continues up another 7 steps to the second floor. It works fine going up but requires manual intervention on the way down to get around the tight turn in the middle. That intervention consists of prying the power bogie in a way that pushes the drive gear inwards towards the face of the gear rack. This behavior leads me to believe there’s a problem with the side rollers providing inadequate pressure to perform that function. How can I check this? Is there a spec for the roller diameter(s) or another means to adjust the side roller pressure? Or could this issue be caused by some other problem?
I hope someone here can provide some insight.
Thanks!
