‘m picking up a used Handicare 2000 in a few day’s but I couldn’t find anything about removing the seat so I’ll give it a go with what hopefully will work, power the seat to near the end of the track, disconnect the battery and charger, unbolt the stop, then manually wind the chair off the end of the rail, would that work?
Would there be anything I should be aware of as taking apart the tracks looks to be straight forward?
I don’t know whether this helps but I have just completely removed a Stannah 600 so the principle may be similar. First unbolt the chair from the drive unit (4 hex bolts) after unplugging its wiring from the PCB. Then unbolt the lower interface and footrest from the drive unit (3 bolts, remove 2 and slacken the top one), disconnecting any wiring. Both these items are heavy and need to be removed before removing the drive unit. Then remove the rail endplate and top section of the rack by slackening the hex screws and sliding out. Run the drive unit up the rail until it disconnects from the rack. It can then be lifted carefully off the end of the rail. I found the installation manual for mine online which helped a great deal!
It did help. 🙂 Unfortunately the batteries were dead so I had to hand wind it off the track, did my back in lifting the carriage and that was after removing the seat. 😳 Cheap screws had been used for the feet and the bottom foot was a right pain as I ended up stripping all of the screw heads as they were full of dirt.
