Meditek Service Reset

From day 1 the stairlift has been serviced annually, only on the last occasion did an engineer mention “there’s hardly any need, it’s like new!”, yet for 4 yrs they’d been taking the service fee.
Enough of that!
Although it only gets minimal use eventually the “Service Due” message has appeared.
Through trial & error, hopefully not too much error, I managed to locate a procedure to reset the message, via the push buttons on the circuit board.
It again says “Lift Ready”.

Now the questions: “Trips” showed as 2430 before reset, with “Service” showing as 0000.
After button presses “service”” showed 6000.
Does this mean the “service due” will reappear in another 3570 trips?
What’s the best method to reset things to norm?
I should also mention that while the cover was off, electrical connections were all checked for tightness, nothing was mechanically obviously out of place & the area was given a wipe clean. Basically everything the company had been changing a small fortune for.
Thanks<font face=”inherit” style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”> in advance.

Ah, right. Thanks Kevin.
So where does the trips figure come in to it, or is it irrelevant?
Also, why does my initial post appear with so much (usually hidden) formatting visible?
Thanks again.

Seems I’m not the only one for whom this is puzzling.
I can’t believe the trip figure is irrelevant. It must have a purpose.

It’s not a journey/service counter, it’s count is increased each time you push the joystick, so if you let go mid travel and flick the joystick again to complete the trip, that’s 2 added to the count, it not a service reminder as such, it was a pointless addition on the chip that they used and is used as a money earner! I used to reset it each visit just to keep the customer quiet 🤣 that’s if it actually reset!

D-JParticipant
Ah, I see, thanks. So it IS pointless then 🙂
At least I know I can ignore it, now that I’ve found how to reset the service reminder.
