Savaria Step Saver

Hi everyone. I’m installing a used Savaria Step Saver and wanted to be sure it runs first. Covers off. Front and rear saftey switches jumped out. It runs in one direction only. I tried the board in a working one and it’s fine. All wiring seems OK. Do these need to be in the track or charging? Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks
