Credit to you for at least telling us the full situation but I would echo what Rob has said, yes we do help non-pros to do simple repairs when it appears they have the required degree of knowledge and experience, we aren’t a closed shop but when things take a turn, that in our experience, is illogical and or dangerous we have to resort to guiding you towards someone with training.
This fault is both illogical and potentially dangerous to the user.
For a Bruno to come off the end of a track the lift would have to have many faults that only a Bruno trained Technician could or should rectify.
Many customers see the Gary lineker advert or previously the film Gremlins and ask can it happen, in truth a properly maintained and serviced stairlift could never do that. The lift you have worked on is very close to doing that and needs a professional to ensure that every fault is sorted before it goes back in service, firstly the customer deserves this – thier health is worth more than any cost saving and secondly Bruno / Homeadapt have a right to protect thier reputation. Should this lift fail and injure the user then thier good name gets dragged through the dirt due to no fault of thier own.
The people on here come home from doing a job each day and then come on here and happily try to help people – that doesn’t happen in many industries.
In this case safety must be the number one consideration.
