My mother in law has an Acorn Curve 180 stairlift. It has not been used for a while, and now some of the cells in the batteries fitted in the lift have failed. I suspect that it was left stationary with the mains supply switched off.
Before we spend £300 on Li-ion replacements, I wondered if anyone had experience of what D cells are used in the Ni-Cd batteries previously fitted?
These battery packs are marked: Freeway Ni-Cd. D5000mAh 12V Acorn 180
And the D size cells inside (10 in each pack) are printed with the legend: RDPACD5 03
If I could establish what the current rating of the cells is I might see if I can find a source for such, with a view to making up a couple of replacement batteries if the economics made this practical.
