Servicing a platform stairlift

Hello
I am posting this thread on behalf of my father who suffers with MS. Long story short he has a platform stair lift which is ideal as it accommodates his indoor wheelchair. The lift works just fine, but the steel cable is showing signs of fraying. Social Services have visited and have condemned the lift and have suggested he purchases a through ceiling lift, which in his and my opinion is not an option die to the size of the house.
My question is surely there are companies that fulfil this niche on a daily basis?. It the lift needs is a new steel cable. I would be hugely grateful if anyone could point me in the direction of a company that undertakes this type of work.Many thanks

Make and model of Lift and the area your father live would be a help, we could then line you up with an agant for the manufacturer.

Sorry guys…i couldn’t view my first post and assumed it hadn’t (or i messed up) worked, so i think i might have reposted (flame suit on). I cannot see my posts after sending them for some reason (i have altered the mods). Apologies for the confusion as i only want to find a resolve for my father. My father is lives in Derby and his stair lift is a GIMSON MkIII and the serial number Is GCL.13992
